It is expected to generate more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and to boost the economy of the country's southern region. The four-berth port will have capacity for up to 1m passengers annually when fully operational. Its first phase is planned for inauguration in December 2023.

For what we wanted to do, it was very easy to negotiate with a tour operator outside the tender area to take a tour of Lands End and go whale watching for a fair price. We were ready to book a shore excursion with the cruise line since it was a tender port; however, everything was completely booked. And then, we tried to find an independent tour to book, and anything worthwhile, was sold out. Yes, cruises anchor offshore, not far from the famous Arch of Cabo and Marina Cabo San Lucas.

The beach is also famous for its lively atmosphere, with many restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. This is where most tourist flock to eat, drink and soak up the sun. You can also find and book water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides with tour operators in the area. At the cruise pier end of the marina, you'll find excursion operators, water taxis, Senor Frogs, ATMs, souvenir stands and a Starbucks. Not shy about pursuing cruise ship business, the town is usually wide open at 8 a.m. (you can have breakfast at the marina or even go parasailing that early).

When your ships is at anchor in Cabo San Lucas Bay and you are facing the coastline you will see distinctive rock formations on the left hand side. The Arch offers great diving, snorkelling and photo opportunities. Try to see if your ship offers any excursions to it or book something directly at the local tour operators upon arrival on the tender pier.
